Wells Gray Outdoors Club
The Wells Gray Outdoors Club is a local, not-for-profit organization dedicated to connecting people with outdoor recreation in and around Clearwater. The club manages and maintains the Candle Creek trail network, providing opportunities to get outside year-round through mountain biking, hiking, trail running, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
From beautifully maintained singletrack in the summer to groomed Nordic ski trails in the winter, Candle Creek offers a place for locals and visitors of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors. The club also organizes community events and outdoor activities throughout the year, helping build a strong and active recreation community in Clearwater.
The Wells Gray Outdoors Club also maintain the Raft Rim Recreation Site: a rustic recreation and camping area at the lower end of the Candle Creek trail network. Accessed via Raft West Forest Road, the site provides a starting point for hiking and mountain biking, along with scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
At Wells Gray Outfitters, we're proud to support the Wells Gray Outdoors Club and the volunteers who work to maintain and grow these local trails. Their work helps make Clearwater a great place to bike, ski, hike and explore—and gives our community another reason to get outside and enjoy the place we call home.
