Overview
Wells Gray Outfitters is Clearwater’s locally owned sporting goods and outdoor store. We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, customer-focused, and community-minded individual to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager.
This is a full-time, year-round position (approximately 35–40 hours per week). In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the store. You will work both independently and as part of a team, helping ensure smooth store operations and a positive experience for every customer.
Successful applicants will also be trained to perform basic bicycle maintenance, skate sharpening, and a variety of other equipment services.
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, an active interest in sports and/or outdoor activities, and the ability to represent Wells Gray Outfitters as a positive ambassador in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service by engaging with customers and assisting with product selection
- Expertly fitting and adjusting specialty sports equipment
- Process transactions and handle cash accurately using a point-of-sale (POS) system
- Assist with inventory tasks such as restocking, organizing, and inventory counts
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and exterior areas
- Provide guests with friendly directions and local recommendations during their visit to Wells Gray Provincial Park

- Must have reliable transportation (valid Class 5 driver’s license preferred)
Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Leadership experience or supervisory experience is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new products and skills
- Comfortable working independently when required
