The Loop
5 km trail loop
Approximately 300 m of elevation gain per lap
Same loop every hour
Hourly Starts
A new lap starts every hour, on the hour
You must be present at the start line when the hour begins
Completion Rule
You must complete the loop within the hour to continue
Any remaining time before the next start is rest time
Elimination
If you do not finish within the hour, or if you choose not to start the next lap, your event is over
When you quit, you must ring the gong
If no one completes the 24 laps, then the winner is the last competitor standing, but must complete one lap more than any other competitor. Once the second-last competitor drops out, the winner must still do a final solo lap. If any spectator or prior drop-out wants to accompany this final competitor to cheer them on, that is encouraged.
Movement
You may run, hike, walk, shuffle, roll, somersault. Whatever you think will get you through a full lap but does not involve any mechanical equipment beyond shoes or poles.
Assistance
Assistance from other competitors is allowed
No outside pacers or non competitor assistance on course
Aid and Support
An aid station will be available at the start and finish area
Competitors must be fully self supported while on course
Camping
On site camping is available for participants and crew
Sleeping between laps is encouraged but rarely effective
